Specifically, is it possible for the birth control to present a false negative or positive? Is it possible if the drug is still in a person’s system, for the drug to have any effect? Could the extra hormones create a false positive? Could they create a false negative?
Is it true that birth control “makes your body think you are pregnant?”

Hi, guys!
After reading and answering some posts, just recently, that were related to pregnancy, I started thinking about something and have managed to confuse myself.
I know it is possible to get pregnant *anytime* during your cycle and that your best chances are around ovulation…*but* since the egg only lives for up to 48 hours after ovulation, how *could* it be possible to get pregnant afterwards? Does that make sense? It would seem that there wouldn’t be a viable egg after that point so how is it that women can still get pregnant even the day before the start of their period if they had already experienced all of the signs of ovulation, including using prediction kits, almost 2 weeks prior?
I am not trying to conceive. I am just trying to understand it logically, I guess. It seems to me that once that egg didn’t survive, chances of pregnancy for the rest of that month should be over. I am so confused. :-S
Thanks!

Okay I have seen tons of posts with people after their ovulation having pregnant symptoms and I wonder if this is just normal and they aren’t pregnant. I am having the same symptoms, temperature, headaches, extreme bloating, ewcm, moodiness, nausea, cramps all day and I am now 5dpo. I am trying not to get my hopes up because I will be crushed if I find out I’m not and I was so sure that I am. So is it normal to have all these signs and not be pregnant? Is it just PMS two weeks in advance?

My husband and I are TTC, but I have irregular periods and quite frankly not sure when I ovulate. My last period was Nov 19th, skipped Dec and what is strange is I have spotted for four days then started heavier period-like bleeding yesterday without any cramps. I always have cramps every time I menstruate. I am seeing an OBGYN the 25 of Jan but would like to know if anyone of you had vaginal bleeding similar to a period In the first trimester and still went on to have a normal pregnancy and healthy baby. Thanks much.
