Can a women with SBS have a healthy pregnancy? SBS is short bowel syndrome missing part or all of your intestines (specifically lower) which is where the body absorbs most of its nutrients.

  • I would think so yes.

  • I would think so, but you might have to be put on medication or extra vitamin pills or suppliments to ensure that atleast your baby gets all the nutrients it can.

  • YES.

Was it surgically shortened or naturally occurring? SBS should have not effect on pregnancy. Although during the delivery you might run in to some complications. The strain of pushing could cause the bowel to tear or separate. A scheduled c-section could prevent this. I would talk to a health care provider before getting pregnant to determine if there are any risks in your own personal case.
