I don’t quite understand why people are going so crazy over the meat thing and being pregnant. I have had four children and have always ate deli meat, It has never harmed my children. I also know so many other parents that have ate deli meat and it has had NO negative side effects.

You don’t have to have it toasted, Their meat is all fresh and is kept on a cooler.

As along as it is toasted or the meat is steamed (think firehouse subs) you should be good to go.

to the others that didn’t know deli meat could be bad… it could contain a bacteria called listeria, which can cause you to lose the baby but is killed when heated up some.

listeria by the way grows very well in coolers… the meat being cooled doesn’t matter

I personally skipped the lunch meat type and went for the roasted chicken

Yes, Its fine. You will be fine even if they dont toast it. You will come across bacteria the whole time you are pregnant. You wont be able to stay away from it or even keep your child away from it once they are born unless you two are always in a sterile environment. There will be no side effects from eating meat.

Yes that would be fine. They told me when i was pregnant not to eat cold deli meats without heating them, so when i went there i just had it toasted. There were also a couple of other times i just ate it cold. I am sure that this is fine as long as you dont eat it all time.

i worked at subway until my maternity leave and i ate there a lot. definitely ok if you toast it. i asked my doctor lol

I would assume any meat is okay as long as it’s well cooked. I ate sandwiches and deli meat left and right and nothing happened (other than I gained some pounds). Relax and eat. Just make sure it’s well cooked. Usually deli meat is cooked, so it’s okay.

Meat has protein which is necessary for your baby’s development.

You can have a sub from subway. They have health codes they have to go by and the food is fresh so go ahead. I eat there quite a bit and my little girl is very healthy. You can toasted or not. It doesn’t matter. Good luck!

how is deli meat not a good thing to eat while pregnant? i’ve never heard that before. bacteria will start to grow if the meat is left out at room temperature, which its not. its on a cooler. my sister worked at subway when she was pregnant and ate there all the time and her son is perfectly healthy.
