I have read in alot of sites that they say you can get pregnant after you ovulate i am wondering what is the right answer. Because i am trying and its been 5 months of trying and wondering about that. I know when to get pregnant during ovulation that’s not the problem but i am wondering what is the right answer that’s all.

I don’t think there is any “right” answer to this. Some eggs live up to 24 hours after you ovulate and some live only 12 hours. As long as you are having sex at your ovulation time then your chances are around 25% each month. Low odds I know but that is for every healthy couple.
You can get pregnant after you ovulate because the egg can live for 12-24 hours after it “pops” out of the ovary. You should always try to have sex the day after ovulation just in case the egg is still alive. You cannot get pregnant once the egg dies though. If you are charting your bbt’s then you want to have sex until you confirm your thermal shift with 3 days of high temps. Then its safe to say that the egg is dead and you definitely ovulated. From what I have read (a research study that was done), most women get pregnant by having sex up to 6 days before ovulation, and none got pregnant after ovulation. Since you may not be sure when you have ovulated, continue to have sex after ovulation as it could happen later and you want to make sure you’ve covered your fertile window.
