I am now 6 weeks late on my period and still haven’t taken a pregnancy test. I was originally going to wait another 2 weeks before taking one to make sure, but now I am spotting and I’m concerened. If I am pregnent than something might be wrong, but if I’m not than I won’t have to worry about anything. Should I take one now or wait? If I choose not to wait will the test be accurate?

I would wait…. let your body adjust to “whatever” is going on. If you are pregnant, hope you will be after you stop spotting. If you are NOT, then you will quit spotting or it will become a full-blown period and then let your cycles get back on track. Either way, wait. If you get a positive, you will worry to death about the spotting. If you get a negative, you will wonder what is up with your body. Wait it out, these things are not uncommon.
You can get accurate results on a home pregnancy test if you’re just a few days late, so I think you are fine to take a test right now! If you are pregnant, you can expect a little bit of spotting–it’s completely normal. Take the test girl! I don’t know why you’re waiting! I’m getting excited for you!
BTW: There have been times that I was late, went and bought the test, and my period started almost immediately! It was as if I had to spend the $12 to get my period.
