Question from atlmetalchick

For the past week I’ve had a doctors appointment scheduled for this Friday, but I’m just so eager for an answer it’s getting hard to wait. I’m only looking for opinions here. I took a pregnancy test and it came up negative, but I still have 4 birth control pills left to go before I get to the blanks so it was only about half accurate. I also just got on the pill 3 weeks ago. If I’m not pregnant, I must be sick with some sort of infection right? A bladder or kidney infection maybe, and the thought of PID being a possibility is also scary. Here are ALL my symptoms:

- Slight fever each night for almost 2 wks (5-11 degrees above my normal)
- Abdominal/pelvic pain
- Frequent urination
- Tender/swollen breasts (could be from new bc pills)
- Aches in leg
- Lower back pain for a few days
- Moodiness/emotional
- Slight constipation
- Fatigue, lots of it

These symptoms have been going on for nearly 2 weeks, and they have increased. Any suggestions?

One Response to “Could it be a kidney infection, or even pregnancy or PID?”

Call your Dr. and tell them your symptoms and see if they can work you in any sooner, usually they will if you’re having problems. It sounds more like a kidney/bladder infection than pregnancy. I hope you realize that you have to take a full cycle of birth control pills before it becomes effective and that certain medications cause birth control pills to be ineffective while you’re taking them, like many antibiotics.
