Question from “THE” Mrs. Estabrook
Okay this is my fourth pregnancy. I have 1 son and two girls already. With my third child I went from 128 to 175. Too much Cheese cake available. My question is how do I keep from gaining that much this time and how do I lose it all after the baby has been born. Does breastfeeding help with weight loss?
I should also add that I never lose weight from third pregnancy.

I don’t breastfeed but I’ve heard it does help. The best way to not gain a ton of weight during pregnancy is to eat healthy and exercise throughout the pregnancy. This will make it sooo much easier for you to lose the weight you do gain. Besides..it’s better for you and your baby this way!
Before I got pregnant with my first I weighed 129. Gained 34 pounds throughout the pregnancy. After nine months of breastfeeding, eating like a pig, and no exercise at all, I weighed 117.
So looking forward to the results after this pregnancy, since I started it at 117, and will probably gain that 34 pounds again, that’s the way the trend is going. My husband says if I keep having babies and nursing them I’ll wittle away to nothing, lol.
You betcha breastfeeding helps with weight loss.
Breastfeeding helps so much! So does limiting carbs. No more than 30 grams of net carbs in any 2 hour period. Otherwise it gets stored as fat.
breastfeeding helps only if your taking in good healthy food and good healthy amount of calories.
The absolute ONLY way to loose weight is the one way everyone dreads. Eat right and exercise. No snacking or overeating. eat enough to satisfy you and go on. small portions and healthier meals.
I tried it, but like everything else, it’s just SO hard. I talked to my OB dr. about it, and she prescribed me Adipex. I lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks, and I’m still loosing. It’s a little slow, but it helps me feel fuller faster, which I need. I would prolly loose much more weight faster, but I am lazy and will not exercise right. I also had to take all junk food out of the house. no little debbies, cookies or chips laying around for me to snack on. instead grapes, apples, pretzels, etc. think about that, it might work for you. good luck!
Have you tried this workout?
Breastfeeding will definitely help but you should start walking now. Take your other children on walks everyday, they will enjoy it and the walks will help keep you from gaining too much weight. Also, I walked a lot with my first child and labor was a breeze.
