  • Some women loose weight during the first part of their pregnancy from being sick..

  • My wife lost weight from throwing up.

  • You don’t really loose weight during pregnancy, but after you loose a lot from breast feeding, plus taking care of a baby is a lot of work, and sometimes you forget to eat or take care of yourself in the first year. I used to weigh around 107 before my 1st, than after my son I couldn’t go above 103, maybe your metabolism speeds up.

  • Many women who were overweight to begin with start eating better and exercising. So they lose weight from the diet and exercise, while the baby gains weight.

Others lose weight because they can’t keep much down due to nausea.

  • I lost 28 pounds while I was pregnant I didnt do anything diffrent but drink more water.

  • If a woman has always been a poor eater, (and is obese due to this) then switches to a healthier eating plan during pregnancy, she may well lose weight, (or gain very little) while still providing enough nutrients/calories for her growing baby. If she gains very little, the normal weight loss after baby is born (weight of baby, fluids, extra blood, etc.) will then result in a net ‘loss’ of weight.

(And if she keeps on eating healthy, esp. if she’s also breastfeeding, she will continue to lose weight during the post-partum months.)

  • Alot of times your metabolism can increase during pregnancy and with your body using more energy during that time, if you have the “extra” it can get used up. It happened to a friend of mine when she was prego, and also with me for baby #2…I only gained 20lbs and she was 6lbs 14oz.

  • I lost weight at the beginning because I was throwing up morning, noon and night.

  • Overweight women are generally recommended to gain 10 to 15 pounds during pregnancy rather than the usual 25 to 30. However, if your friend was sick a lot or changed her diet to eat healthier for the baby, it is entirely possible that she lost weight while pregnant.
I ended up weighing quite a bit less after my first pregnancy than I did before I got pregnant because once the baby was here I was so busy that I didn’t have time to eat.

  • For the first half of this pregnancy, I felt sick and had a hard time eating. I lost 15 lbs. I am not 34 weeks along and only 8 lbs up from my pre-pregnancy weight (23 lbs up from my low weight after being sick). If I gain a lb a week from now until I have my baby (which is a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks), I will be 14 lbs up from pre-pregnancy.

With my first pregnancy, I gained 54 lbs total but within a week of having the baby, I lost 22 lbs. If I were to lose 22 lbs again, after only gaining 14 – I would come out below what I originally was.

Also, if she was breastfeeding that would have helped her lose some of the pounds after her pregnancy. You burn a lot of calories from breastfeeding.

  • YES! i hate people like that! lol, i was 160 b4 this baby and now im fighting to stay below 200 in my last month (4 lbs to go dont think its gonna happen lol) but breast feeding helps you loose weight after the babys born and lots of excersize during such as walking or swimming is supposed to help u get back after the baby as well, but u also cant eat your self to death while prego, which is probably im fighting to stay under 200 now, i used him as an excuse to eat what i wanted when i wanted! i regret it now! and… by the way dont just have a baby to loose weight, because it definately does NOT always happen like that lol
