I gained 45 lbs of baby weight, but I was already getting heavy before I got pregnant. (fell into poor eating habits)
I lost the 45 extra lbs in like a month with breastfeeding and pumping, but haven’t lost the pre-baby weight yet. Still working on that.
I gained 70 pounds with my twins. When I got home from the hospital two days later I had lost 30 pounds. I know breastfeeding helps you lose weight. Also if you have a Wii you can get Wii Fit, I have it and it helps a lot. I’ve lost 10 more pounds, but I’m still working on the last 30. It’s hard to lose the weight. Just make sure you eat healthy, drink lots of water, and go for a lot of walks. Good luck!Congratulationss on your baby!
I gained 35 lbs — and I still have 10 more to go, 2 years postpartum. Those last 10 lbs are stubborn!
It took me three weeks to lose all of my pregnancy weight plus 10 pounds. I was breastfeeding so that helped but otherwise I didn’t do anything. Good luck!
It takes 9 months to put it on, give your self about the same amount of time to take it off. It has only been 6 days, please don’t be too hard on yourself. Your belly probably has not even shrunk as much as it will (takes a while for the uterus to go back to the normal size). And if you are breastfeeding, make sure you are taking in the amount of calories your doctor recommends. You actually need more while breastfeeding than you do when you are pregnant! If you diet while breastfeeding it can have a negative impact on your baby. I was lucky, it took me about 4-5 months to lose the baby weight, but everyone’s body works a little different.
I gained 17 lbs with my first baby and weighed less when I left the hospital than before I got pregnant. I still had the flabby stomach though and working out daily: 30 minutes of cardio, elliptical machine for 15 minutes and walking a mile twice a week helped bring that down within about 4 months post-partum. No matter how much I worked on my abs my stomach never got as flat and tight as it was prior to pregnancy. With my second baby I gained 21 lbs and by my 6 week post-partum visit I had lost it all but again it took about 6 months to get the flab off my stomach. I am 4 weeks post partum today after my third child and have lost the 28 lbs I gained but still have to work on my belly! Good luck!
i was 260lbs right before my youngest was born, im 198lbs now (3mths later). i lost wieght by eating plenty of veggies and organic foods. thats it, no working out or anything
I can’t really say how long it will take for you lose your baby weight, everyone is different. But I know I gained 21 pounds while pregnant and lost 36 pounds within 3 weeks postpartum.
Now I’m sort of stuck at 146 lbs, which is great for me, but I want to tone up my stretchy tummy. So I am doing Leslie Sansone DVD’s and Slim in 6 workouts. Slim in 6 is awesome for the core and Leslie Sansone does corework, but also works on legs, arms, and butt. I am also eating a lot of protein, eggs, oatmeal, tuna on crackers, small portions and small snacks mid-morning and mid-afternoon so I am never hungry. Good luck! You are doing great, and you will be back down in no time!
It’s different for every woman, as you’ll see by all the answers you get!
I gained 30 lbs, exactly, with my LO. Three weeks after he was born, I was able to fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans. If I’m being honest, they were a little snug, but I was able to put them on, zip them, and button them. I’m among other mommies here, so I’m hoping you’ll appreciate my small victory – LOL!
At 4 months postpartum, I weighed 5 pounds less than I did before getting pregnant.
For me, I did yoga throughout my pregnancy (until I was about 8 months). After allowing myself some time to recover, I try now to get myself moving at least twice a week with some basic stretching. Since it’s summer, I put my son in the stroller, and we walk a mile every evening.
I changed my eating habits somewhat. I find myself busier than ever during the day, so eating meals is out. Instead, I snack on something high in protein whenever I feel hungry: cottage cheese & fruit, hummus & pita, a granola bar, crackers & peanut butter, etc. I drink lots of water & milk, and then I eat basically what I want for dinner, and try not to feel too bad about it.
Not saying it’s a perfect system, but it worked for me!
I gained 30-32 lbs when i was pregnant, lost about 15 by the time i came home from the hospital (2 days later) and after about 3 weeks i was back to my previous weight, but my body doesn’t look anything like it did before. I would recommend working out as soon as you feel up to it. I go for walks with my son in a front carrier, it’s good excercise, he loves it and it’s nice to be outside
