I had my baby on July 14th, and i lost 30 pounds so far but the last two days i havent lost anything. And i was woundering how long it takes to lose all of my pregnancy weight, i still have 30lbs to go. Also how long does it take for tears to heal? I had two tears during delivery, and how long does it take for the belly to get back to normal. Its so gross looking cause it just hangs there and is all flabby. I feel so down right now, because im fat and look pregnant but im not anymore. I didnt mind being fat looking because i was pregnant, but not that shes born i dont like how i look. And i cant wear any of my clothes, my maternity clothes are too big and my regular clothes are too small, im like stuck in my house cause i only can fit into sweatpants.

well i guess it cam be different for every one but for me :
i heald from my stiches like about 2-3 1/2 weeks later.
my belly went back to normal about 2 months after delivery (yeah very long time)
and i still have my baby fat (pregnancy belly and i ll still have it until i start dieting or eating less.
Just relax you just had a baby for goodness sake. You will shrink back down eventually. Make sure you are eating right and exercising, but wait until your body has had at least 6 weeks to heal and talk to your doctor about post partum depression. Your tears will heal within about 2 weeks normally. Make sure you are still taking your vitamins as well. As far as clothes go go to your local thrift store or Walmart and buy a couple pair of shorts to get you by while you shrink down. Remember it took you almost a year to get to where you are so it’s going to take about that long to completely recover. Good luck and try not to stress about it.
for ur belly—a few weeks, i trick i learned is to wear like tights, and pull them up over your belly to help it hold in. tears, about 3–4 weeks, the stitches will evantually just dissolve and then they will be healed. and for weight, it all depends on how much u weighed pre pregnancy and how much u gained during the pregnancy, but if you wanna loose a lot of weight and have a extremly healthy baby then breast feed, i did woth both my kids, and my body looks better then b4 i got pregnant.
It really depends on where you gained and how you gained. I gained about 30 altogether with my daughter and I lost it in the first three months. My stomach took a bit longer…I would say in the past two months it started to look like it had before. Doing ab exercises faithfully has helped, so once you are allowed to exercise again start to slowly walk and then add in more exercises gradually (and I do mean gradually…think of what your poor body just went through!!!)
30 pounds so far is terrific, by the way! You’ll probably get rid of some more without any work since alot of it is swelling and that can take awhile to go down. The rest will come off as you exercise and eat well.
Your tear should be okay in about a month or so…I had one as well and it took awhile to heal but after a month it felt fine and after a couple of months I couldn’t even feel where the stitches had been.
Good luck…I know the post-pregnancy body is no fun but you will have your old body back, tummy and all, if you commit yourself to it. This is a stinky stage (being in between your maternity stuff and your real stuff) so treat yourself to some in-between sized things and try to relax until you pull the weight off.
Don’t be so hard on yourself! You should be glad you lost 30 pounds already. Just think of how long it took you to gain that weight. I have 3 kids so I know how crappy you feel. Everytime I looked at myself I wanted to cry. To be honest, it took me about 9 months before my body was totally back to normal. By normal I mean to where I was happy with it. It is certainly not the same as before I had kids, my belly is still a little flabby. Everyone is different, I know several girls who have had babies and look like they never did. I know about the clothes thing too, that’s rough. I went out and bought myself some cute comfy clothes to wear while I was still losing weigh. I always felt better when I fixed my hair and put on a little makeup too. You’ll look good again, just give it time! If you want to talk feel free to email me.
30 lbs is a lot of weight already and you should be proud of yourself that you have already lost that much. You’ve got to remember though it took 9 mths to get that way so one of the best ways to think of it is it will probably take about 9 mths to get back to what you once were.
as for the stitches they will take at least 4-6 weeks to fully heal.
The baby belly unfortunately sometimes doesn’t go away fully, as you lose weight it will definitely go down some but it is pretty hard to get it back to what it once was. I would just suggest keeping up a good cardio and weightlifting routine when you are cleared to workout.
remember though you JUST had your baby a few weeks ago, you still have a ton of time to get your body back but right now why don’t you just enjoy your little bundle of joy
ah girl i am in the SAME boat
my girl is 5 weeks old and and while i have lost over 20 lbs so far i still have another 30 to go and my belly is gross too
i am wearing my maternity stuff still
but i am feeling good with energy so i am just trying to keep a good attitude that with time, exercise and breastfeeding the weight will continue to drop
and honey….you just had your baby on the 14th!!……don’t stress yourself out so much….you are driving yourself crazy
get out of the house…..so walking with the baby every evening even if for 15 minutes….when you get home you will feel good about yourself for having done a bit of exercise
