Question from Tom Weldon
I’m not sure if my girlfriend is pregnant but she has been tested a few times and all negative but for the last few months her period has been irregular and she has been gaining weight slowly. I haven’t seen her in 2 months until last night and her breasts were a lot bigger…is that a sign? How long would it take for the weight to start adding on? Could you be ten pounds bigger in 2 weeks or would it take longer?

It would take longer, at least earlier in pregnancy. Most women hit the 10 lb mark at about 4 months. Sounds like something else to me, she should see a doc. I knew girls when I was young who had the same type of symptoms, they had hormonal problems, not pregnancy. Good luck!
It would take a lot longer than that to gain 10lbs
It varies for every women. And it depends on whether its a male or female, twin or not, ect. Some women can go all throughout pregnancy without showing much at all. Others can show soon after conception. Just depends. Talk to her!
Every woman’s body reacts differently. Some women start gaining weight right away, while some don’t gain much at all during the pregnancy. However, since she’s had multiple negative tests and been getting her period, the odds of her being pregnant aren’t very high.
She could just be gaining weight. Women of certain body types (myself, included) tend to have all new, excess weight gained go right to their breasts. So, that’s not necessarily any indication of pregnancy.
Really, it depends on her body. Every woman is different, and every pregnancy is different. Example: with my first pregnancy, I gained MAYBE 15 pounds by my 5th month. Now, I’m 5.5 weeks and in the last 2 weeks have gained 8 pounds. My metabolism is still as deprived of caffeine and nicotine as it was with my first pregnancy, but I’m puttin on the pounds obviously!
Just go to the doctor’s. Don’t stress about it, it could stress her out.
Bigger breats is a dffinate sign of pregnancy but not always what to go by. I am 15 weeks and have only gains 7 pounds depends on how you eat on how much you gain and how fast
A weight gain of 10 lbs in 2 weeks is pretty much unheard of. Every woman is different and some gain weight early, while others don’t gain much until later. I’m about 13 weeks along and have gained about 4 lbs. Maybe she got implants? Sounds like she might want to go to the doctor and find out what’s up.
