i am almost 10 weeks postpartum and have lost 25 of the 50 lbs i gained during pregnancy..i haven’t been doing any dieting or exercising yet i was just waiting to see how much i would lose without it but i really need to start now because i havent lost anymore weight since about 4 weeks postpartum. I was just wondering how much of your pregnancy weight did you lose without trying? And when did you realize you’re going to have to work to lose the rest of it?

  • I lost all but 3 lbs. I gained 33 lbs with my pregnancy. I breast fed and I heard that helps but I didn’t lose most of my weight until I started to nurse her only a few times a day which was around 14-15 months post-partum. I don’t excercise much. I probably power walk 3 times a night for about 1.5-2 miles. I think I lost most of it by cutting out crabs ( pasta,bread, sugar, & starch)

    Give it some time. You can’t rush these things. You’re doing great already being only almost 10 weeks post partum.

    I lost about 35 of the 60+ by merely existing as a new mom the first few months. Then there was a pause. Then I lost another 15 by basically avoiding junk food, not really dieting. The last ten were the hardest and the only ones I really did any “dieting” for. I was pretty much back to my normal weight by a little over a year post partum, which is standard.

    Give yourself some time. You don’t want to lose weight too fast anyway, that’s when the skin gets saggy.

  • I actually lost all of my baby weight without really trying. I did breast feed though, I don’t know if you are.

  • I didn’t work at it at all, but it probably came off slower than those who put in effort. But my son is 6 month old and I weigh 8 pounds less than before I had kids. just from nursing and chasing my toddler. However, I will need to actually put in some work to get my stomach to look the same as it was before…if it ever will.

  • My daughter was born June 16 too! I’ve only lost 10lbs [I gained about 35], but it’s my fault because I’m still eating like I’m pregnant! I know I need to cut back on my portions and eat a little healthier. I walk a few times a week, but I need to step it up on the exercise as well. On my next payday, I’m buying Wii Fit and joining Weight Watchers.

  • With my first baby, I lost all of my weight (18lbs) within a month. By 6 months post partum I had lost 32lbs from breastfeeding and was down to 108lbs. My clothes were literally hanging off of me, it was disgusting.

    By the time I got pregnant with my second, last October, I was up to 115lbs. I gained 25lbs this time and my baby is now 9 weeks old. I have lost all of my weight except 4lbs but my stomach is gross and flabby! I didn’t have the flab the first time, but now I have all this extra skin. So I have just realized that I need to start doing some serious ab work!

  • i gained 25lbs, and 4 days later i already lost 10lbs…i have a really fast metabolism and i never had to work out, hopefully that stays! :) i am nursing my son and that helped my stomach return to normal and helped me lose the weight faster…

  • Well I gained about 26 pounds so that was a total of 161lbs when i was pregnant. about two weeks later, postpartum, i was 140 now my daughter is a month n a half and I’m down to 132. I didn’t do any exercise and i didn’t get a chance to eat much cause i was always asleep. but now i realize i need to start working out to tighten up my stomach ha ha. My goal is to be 125, so seven more pounds to loose!!
