  • im not sure, but have you tried ducolax? thats safe.

  • Yes, they are really good for pregnant women! They really do help when other stuff doesn’t. It also helps with the swelling of the feet and nose!

  • This is a question only your OBGYN can answer for you. You shouldn’t take any laxatives without the Dr’s permission and I know my paperwork says no enemas but some drs might give the ok. Only way to know is call your OBGYN

  • Only under the instruction and advice of a doctor. Make sure you have already spoken to your doctor and done absolutely everything else in your power to solve the issue before using an enema. Such as drinking prune juice and things like that. I had the same problem when I was pregnant with my second child, and it was only after three days of severe pain that I was allowed to use an enema. You have to be careful because it could cause premature labor if you’re not.

  • Only non-medicated ones. Call your doc’s office and speak to his nurse to find out the best ones. I believe “Fleet” is one that is OK.

  • If someone else is giving you the enema you may find it more comfortable to assume the knee-chest position. To accomplish this, get on your hands and knees and then put one or two pillows underneath your chest, and lean forward on them. Turn your face sideways and rest it on another pillow, and snuggle both arms underneath. This particular position is an especially comfortable one to have an enema during pregnancy, but if you attempt it on your own the rectal tube tends to slip out and it is difficult to work the shutoff. If you do this on the bathroom floor rather than the bed, make sure your knees are cushioned by a pillow or a pad, or the pressure on them might cause knee damage.

    so yes it is safe…

  • Does your Dr know you are using laxatives? I was always told that was bad. And pregnant or not using an enema all the time is not good because your body can become dependent on them. I had constpation problems earlier with this pregnancy, and I tried Milk of Magnesia and that worked just fine. If you are having these problems, amybe you should tell your Dr, and see what they can do.

  • try eating some sugar free foods they will work as a laxative

  • Enemas are much safer then laxatives. It is safe to use a enema. However there are a lot of different types on the market right now so i would talk to my doctor about the safest one. If you can not talk to a doctor go to your local pharmacist and they will inform you of what type is most recommended.
