Question from mustanggirl1215
i’ll really try to make this quick. i’ve recently been on birth control for about almost a year now and last month, i forgot to refill my prescription. so i waited till after i got my period to restart my birth control which i started at the beginning of the month. my boyfriend & i recently had intercourse, we used protection but he started getting nervous which of course got me nervous. im not due for my period for another week, i took a test to make sure (better safe than sorry) & it was negative.i know its a week early but it was two weeks ago that we had intercourse where there was a possibility of it happening. we dont think the condom broke, yet he says he is unsure. i dont feel like i could be pregnant, but yet it is still in the back of my head. is it true that it takes a few cycles before you could get pregnant after being on birth control for quite some time & is it common to have cramping around ovulation?

i just have one thing to say…if the condom broke, u guys would definitely know! even if there will be a tiny hole, by the time he takes it out, it’ll split bigger and he’ll clearly have a ripped condom on his penis, so there is no way of not knowing whether the condom broke or not, even in the dark he’d feel it while taking it off…
and no, it’s not true, some women get pregnant right after they get off the pill. plus a lot of women get pregnant WHILE on the pill. but if the condom didn’t break, there is 99% chance u are NOT pregnant.
Cramping during and around ovulation is very common.
I was on the Pill for about a year and a half. It took me nearly another whole year to get pregnant.
While there is some small chance (the boxes say only about 0.1%) of getting pregnant while using a condom, there is still a chance. I seriously doubt that you’re pregnant, but nonetheless, the only way to tell would be to wait till your period is due.
