i’m 2 days late for my period now. This morning I noticed a little pink spotting but it is now gone. My CM is now Clear, and creamy looking. No red or pink anywhere.

I do not have any cramps or anything and I don’t feel my period even coming. Should I still get a pregnancy test just to be sure?
did have sex on all the right days, and I do not think it is implantation bleeding because I am now about 15-16 days past ovulation. The only other pain or symptom i have is lower back pain. and mild sore breasts

Rest assured, ladies, spotting during pregnancy is typically a very normal occurrence. A number of women will spot periodically during their first trimester. Spotting during pregnancy is in fact such a normal occurrence, that many women fail to notice that they are pregnant, due to the fact that the spotting usually occurs around the same time of the month as their normal period.

Signs Of Normal Spotting During Pregnancy

There are a number of ways to determine whether you are simply experiencing normal spotting during pregnancy, or if it may be something more. Always consult a doctor any time you experience anything out of the norm, and especially if you have any concerns about spotting during your pregnancy.

Typically, spotting during pregnancy will present as a darker, brownish color, or possibly a light pink. This color generally means that what you are experiencing is normal spotting. Typical causes for spotting during pregnancy include hemorrhoids, yeast infections, or urinary tract infections. None of these are very serious, and are experienced at some point during pregnancy by many women, whether they spot or not. A quick visit to your doctor will ease your mind, as he or she will most generally be able to offer something for the relief of the underlying cause of your spotting.

The hormone flux in a woman when she becomes pregnant is the number one cause for spotting during pregnancy. It is because of this flux that so many women don’t realize that they are pregnant until much later in the pregnancy than others. The hormone imbalance can cause a woman to spot during the same time of the month as when she would normally experience her period.

When It Isn’t Normal

Of course, spotting during pregnancy can also signify a problem with the pregnancy. Although this is rare, and most problems are preceded with much heavier bleeding, a woman who is spotting during her pregnancy may be experiencing a more serious complication.

A heavier, bright red color of bleeding can signify a miscarriage. Experts say that roughly forty percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, but that these miscarriages generally happen within the first five weeks. Anytime you experience any spotting during pregnancy during your second or third trimester, call your doctor immediately! This could be a sign of a serious complication such as placental abruption, which is a separation of the placenta from the uterus; or placenta previa, in which your placenta will move to cover your cervix.

To put your mind at ease, always call your doctor anytime you experience spotting during pregnancy. But remember, if you are within a few days of your due date…spotting during pregnancy may be an early sign of labour, so get ready to welcome home your little bundle of joy!

Question from [C] Never Gives Up.

I should be getting my period her within the next few days and today I started spotting; dark brown. I was curious to know if this is related it pregnancy at all? I’ve taken 2 tests in the past 2 days and they were negative. We are trying to conceive. Thanks in advance!
I did have mild cramps about 4 days past ovulation.
And the mild cramping has lasted up to now when the spotting started. I still have mild cramps here and there. Plus I am very bloated, more than usual; before I start my period.

I had sex with this guy a little over a week ago. We used a condom and it didn’t break.
My period was supposed to start about a day after, but it didn’t.
I have VERY irregular periods and can sometimes go up to 4 months without one… but today I started spotting. It was a brown-ish color, like the kind you get at the very END of your period. The spotting only lasted a few hours.

I took a pregnancy test at home just to make sure, and it came out negative.
Do i have anything to worry about?
